A man wearing a black hoodie and red mask smashes the rear window with a hammer.

In the same moment, another thug tries to drag the man, wearing a light blue t-shirt, out of the car while savagely knifing him in the arm.

The victim can be heard repeatedly begging the taxi driver "uncle drive", as he attempts to fight off his attackers with a blade.

He is continuously stabbed, as he kicks them away while blood pours soaks through his top and from above his right eye.

After about 20 seconds of struggle, the cabbie pulls away from the chaotic scene, on Spencer Road in Rainham.

The brutal knife attack came after three men, including the blue t-shirt wearing passenger, had been in the taxi.

They all exit the vehicle, but within moments, a white Mercedes approaches from behind and a fight breaks out.

Two of the taxi passengers flee, before the victim jumps back in as a desperate bid to escape.

After making the quick decision to drive away, the taxi driver asks where to go.

To which the petrified passenger urges him to drop him off at the nearest police station.

The terrified driver cries over the damage done to his taxi, and the back-seat rider throws him a large wad of cash to pay.

He then appears to phone a mate and tells them he's been stabbed, before dialling 999.

"I need police, I'm getting followed by a car. They're following me, they tried to stab me," he tells an officer.

It is understood the man took himself to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or threatening.

Cops have now launched an investigation into the stabbing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police are aware of a video circulating on social media showing dashcam footage of a man in a car being attacked by a group of men armed with knives.
