A MUM-OF-EIGHT doused her ex-lover's brother in petrol and set his new van alight in a shocking attack, a court heard.
Gemma Peregreen, 37, tried to pour a jerry can of fuel over Tyronne Webb after he went to her Wales flat to pick up his brother's belongings following a messy split.
Newport Crown Court heard how there was a "bad feeling" after the bitter break-up between Mr Webb's brother and Peregreen.
Disturbing footage of the brutal arson, on February 26 this year, was played for the court.
It showed the terrifying moment the victim's van erupted into flames while he prayed the fire did not reach him.
In an impact statement, Mr Webb said he would have feared for his life if the petrol that covered him was ignited too.

He also told the court more than £2,000 in damages was caused to his vehicle.
“I never want to see her again," said Mr Webb.
Peregreen, of St Briavels in the Forest of Dean, pleaded guilty to arson reckless as to whether life was endangered.
Judge Daniel Williams told Peregreen: "Because of that history [the break-up between Peregreen and Mr Webb's brother], the two of you exchanged unpleasant words.
