A few seconds in to the ride, the bull started to buck across the field and apparently hit the rider in the face several times with its head and horns.

The man seemed dazed by the blows and fell from the animal onto the grass.

The bull continued to buck and stomped the unconscious rider on the ground.

Several cowboys distracted the animal before they managed to drag the motionless man from the bullring.

The rider survived miraculously the attack at the El Regalo ranch in Nacajuca, Tabasco State, Mexico on Sunday, July 21.

Local media reported that the man was transferred to a local hospital for evaluation and care.

According to El Universal, the unnamed man did not sustain any serious injuries.

The festivities continued after the incident occurred.

The bull-riding event was organised as part of the annual festival in honour of the patron saint James the Great.

The bull was previously ridden by another contestant who was also thrown to the ground.

Luckily, the individual was also uninjured, as reported by El Universal.

The incident has divided opinions on weather rodeo riding was still acceptable on social media.

One local said: “He was already sparked out before he fell.

“That’s a huge bull, it was obvious the guy would get hurt.”

Another said: “It's art, applause for the bull. At least there was a good show and everyone had a lot of fun.”

William wrote: “I hope the bull is okay.”

Juan remarked: “Karma, stop bothering these animals.”

It comes after dozens of people were injured after several raging bulls stormed through the streets of Spain in the annual bull run festival in Spain.

One person is said to have been gored while dozens were hit and tossed around in the first two days of the San Fermin Festival that kicked off in Pamplona.

Dramatic footage showed the angry bulls chasing the thrillseekers as they took part in the adrenaline-filled race.

The bulls can be seen tearing through the crowd and striking people on their way.

One person, who slipped and fell on the ground, was run over by the fighting bulls.

Others were tossed in the air as they tried to evade the wrath of the beasts.

Local government said a 37-year-old Spanish man was brutally struck by large bull horns during the traditional event, but was later released with minor injuries.

To date, 16 deaths have also been recorded since 1911, the last coming in 2009.

Earlier in March, dozens of bullfighting fans were gored and tossed around the ring in a festival bloodbath.

Two people were dead while eight were badly injured in the horrific bullfighting event that took place in Arjona, Columbia.

Horrific footage shows hundreds of would-be matadors getting inside the arena to test their bravery as people in the audience torment the bull by throwing anything that comes to hand at it.

It comes after the so-called "Messi of Matadors" was brutally gored by a rampaging 1,000lb bull.

Shocking footage showed the beast charge at Andrés Roca Rey, 26, before crushing him against the barriers and throwing him in the air.
