STEVE MCCLAREN has not travelled to the US with Manchester United for their pre-season tour.
The former England manager has instead remained at home after taking up a new role at the club.
McClaren re-joined the Red Devils' coaching team in 2022 following Erik ten Hag's appointment.
He previously spent two years at Old Trafford during Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure.
After two years as an assistant manager, though, McClaren has now seen his job title change to senior first-team coach.
The move comes after the arrivals of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake as Ten Hag's new assistants.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report McClaren remains at Carrington after United jetted off to the USA this week.
The 63-year-old is currently recovering from foot surgery, which is said to be hampering his mobility.
As a result, he will instead work with the players returning late to pre-season training following their international exploits.
Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Joshua Zirkzee, Lisandro Martinez, Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri and Altay Bayindir have all been given time-off following Euro 2024 and Copa America.
