AN X FACTOR USA alum has shared how she handled an awkward meeting with a guy from a trending reality television show.
Carly Rose Sonenclar couldn't believe what happened when she ran into a cast member from Love Island USA Season 6.

The singer-songwriter was 13 years old when she shot to stardom on The X-Factor USA Season 2 in 2012.
Her standout audition and second-place finish captured the attention of Simon Cowell and even landed her a record deal.
Now, at 25 years old, she's once again in the spotlight.
Carly Rose (@carlyrose) went viral on TikTok after detailing her embarrassing meeting with a guy who made a brief appearance on the latest season of Love Island USA.
"So, I had one of the most embarrassing moments of my 25 years last weekend," she began her video.
She explained that she was at The Penmar, an outdoor live music venue in Los Angeles, when she spotted someone she thought she knew.
"I immediately recognize this guy as this dude that I met the week prior. I was at a show with my brother, and we both just became really good friends with this guy," she said.
Carly Rose noted that she had been drinking and had only met him that one time, which was why her memory was a bit foggy.

When she spotted him in the distance, she recalled how she "cut" and "weaved" through people to say hello to him, dragging her friend along with her.
"This man is sitting there on a picnic blanket with like five girls," she said. "I'm like, okay, go off, and I walk up to him, like, 'Hey!'"

He asked how she was doing, but she was surprised that he looked like he didn't recognize her, even though they had "just spent the whole night together."
He played along, but his interaction with her made her realize he might not know who she was.
"I'm like, 'That's so weird. How could he not know who I am? We just hung out,'" she explained.
"So it starts to sink in that this man doesn't know who I am. I'm looking at him. I'm like, 'You have no idea who I am do you?'"

"I'm not going to lie to you. I don't think we've met," he replied.
"But you just seemed so confident that I wanted to make it seem like we had."
BIG REVEAL
Carly explained how she was staring into his eyes, trying to figure out how she knew him, when she asked if he was on television.
Once he revealed he was on Love Island USA, she realized why she had been so confused.
"I'm like, 'Carly, you have made a grave mistake.' I had been watching Love Island the night before this, and this man came on as a Bombshell," she said.
The man in question was Connor Newsum from Love Island USA Season 6.
Connor entered on the second day as a Bombshell and left on day 15 when he failed to couple up with anyone.
"My brain malfunctioned at this very moment, and I switched the two up," Carly Rose explained.
"They look marginally similar, but honestly, if I put them next to each other … they're not that similar."

Carly Rose was mortified to realize that Connor thought she was some "super fan" who concocted this story to "come and talk to him."
She tried explaining why she was confused and then asked him if they could "pretend like this didn't happen."
To add insult to injury, the five women he was with had witnessed the encounter and wanted to know why she was trying to take him away from them.
"Clearly, Love Island didn't work out for you," she joked in the video.
Carly Rose said she ran away to the opposite side of the venue and fell to the floor laughing, crying, and hyperventilating all at the same time.
"It was a great and horrible moment for me," she said. "Connor, if you see this, I'm sorry, and I hope that you find love."
Carly Rose's video has been viewed nearly 600,000 times and has received more than 200 comments.
Many Love Island fans were charmed that Connor was willing to play along with her.
"Awww, but he’s such a sweetie for that," one commented.
