Each week our StormTracker59 Team features an ‘Adoptable Pet of the Week’ from the Humane Society of Raleigh County on their Pet Walking Forecast. If you’d like more information on a feature pet or would like to help out in other ways like food or monetary donations, contact the Humane Society of Raleigh County located at 325 Grey Flats Rd, Beckley, WV 25801 by calling 304-253-8921 or visiting their Facebook here.

January 1st – January 9th: The first featured pet of 2024 is the lovable and playful Lucy. The one year old medium build pup is eager for her forever home and with a face like this, she surely won’t be hanging around the shelter long. To schedule your meet and greet session, simply reach out to the shelter above!

During cold weather, smaller dogs are more susceptible to the cold which can lead to expensive vet visits for illness, blisters, and even cause death. While larger dogs can handle the cold a little better, there isn’t a big difference between what small dogs can handle vs. larger dogs. A good rule of thumb is if you’re cold, they’re cold. Bring them inside!
